Program Description

The genetics of Parkinson’s disease is a rapidly evolving field. It is challenging for practitioners, scientists and industry partners to stay abreast of the emerging genes and diagnostic approaches. This course will review the current state of genetics in Parkinson’s, genetic testing and the rationale for current clinical trials. The course will also discuss the rationale for exploring various therapies and approaches based on genetics.

Course Purpose

The primary purpose of this program is to address the critical role for pharmaceuticals and devices in genetics in Parkinson's disease.


Lectures will be available for on-demand viewing beginning on June 1, 2022 until August 31, 2022.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Describe the phenotype, frequency, and type of mutations of genetic forms of PD

2. Identify current indications, practice, and solutions for genotyping PD patients

3. Discuss potential therapeutic targets and clinical trial designs for genetic forms of PD
