Program Description

The MDS-AOS 5th School for Young Neurologists is an opportunity for young neurologists who are interested in specializing in Movement Disorders to receive in-depth knowledge from internationally recognized Movement Disorders experts. Students will attend didactic lectures and case discussions during question-and-answer sessions. Students will get an opportunity to present their own case-study videos for discussion. Topics will focus on different types of hypo and hyperkinetic movement disorders.

Course Purpose

The primary purpose of this course is to provide an opportunity for young neurologists who are interested in specializing in Movement Disorders to receive in-depth knowledge from internationally recognized Movement Disorders experts.


Registrations Fees:

Members: $100 USD

MDS Juniors & No Fee Members: $80 USD

Non Members: $120 USD


*Non-members wishing to apply for MDS Membership to receive the MDS Member rate for this course will need to apply for membership no later than 2 weeks in advance of session.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity learners will be able to:

  1. Define the phenomenology of hypokinetic movement disorders.
  2. Define the phenomenology of hyperkinetic movement disorders.
  3. Approach to the treatment of different types of movement disorders.

Intended Audience

This activity is intended for Movement Disorder Specialist, General Neurologists, Researchers, Fellows, Residents, and Medical Students.

Method of Participation

Participants must complete an evaluation for each session they attend to receive continuing medical education credit. Your chosen session(s) must be attended in their entirety. Partial credit for individual sessions is not available.

Registration may be cancelled up until 2 weeks before the course, minus a $25 USD cancellation fee. After this time, the registration fee is nonrefundable.

The International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society’s Asian and Oceanian Section (MDS-AOS) has taken preventative measures to reduce the spread of communicable disease including, but not limited to COVID-19 (“Communicable Disease”) at the MDS-AOS 5th School for Young Neurologists course.
