Program Description

This module will provide up-to-date information on Huntington disease, including (i) the underlying genetics, pathophysiology and neuropathological features; (ii) the clinical presentation including movement disorders, neuropsychiatric and cognitive features; (iii) management including pharmacological treatment and the importance of multidisciplinary care; (iv) future therapeutic strategies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Understand the genetics and diagnosis of Huntington disease (HD)

2. Recognize the clinical characteristics of HD.

3. Understand treatment strategies for HD including the use of multidisciplinary care.

ABOUT THE FUNDAMENTAL SERIES

The Series, comprised of 17 self-guided e-learning modules, provides an overview of clinical approaches, evaluation and management of common movement disorders.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

Neurology residents, primary care providers, medical students, internists and other non-neurology specialists, allied health, and industry who have limited to no movement disorder experience.
