Program Description

The MDS-PAS Pediatric Movement Disorders Course will be streamed live from Boston, MA on June 6-8, 2025. This course will provide a state-of-the-art review of current practices, controversies, and active areas of research in pediatric movement disorders. This program will bring together the pediatric movement disorders community to discuss topics pertinent to specialists, neurologists, researchers, and clinicians from adjacent fields of neurosurgery and genetics. Sessions will not be recorded for viewing on-demand. Registrants will receive a Zoom link to watch the live stream closer to the course dates. Please note this online course is not accredited. This registration site is for live stream registration only.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to: 

1. Develop a framework for the application of deep brain stimulation in the treatment of status dystonicus, cerebral palsy, and hyperkinetic movement disorders

2. Define emerging disease-modifying therapies for genetic movement disorders

3. Summarize the current approach to managing status dystonicus and other movement disorder emergencies in children

4. Describe the expanding molecular and clinical spectrum of epilepsy-dyskinesia syndromes

5. Develop an approach to palliative care for progressive movement disorders and transition of care from pediatric to adult neurology
