Program Description

Join the MDS Basic Science Special Interest Group in their ongoing webinar series on Thursday, June 5 at 7:00 PM CDT. This installment of the series will examine the role of mitochondrial dysfunction in Parkinson’s disease pathogenesis with esteemed guest speakers Prof. Nobutaka Hattori and Prof. Carolyn Sue.

Their talks will cover insights from genetic studies linking key genes to molecular mechanisms underlying mitochondrial dysfunction, and the impact of environmental toxins in disease pathogenesis and their use in developing important PD animal models. Overall, their lectures will offer a comprehensive look at how mitochondrial pathways contribute to neurodegeneration and potential therapeutic strategies.
