Program Description

The MDS-PAS & EHDN Joint Online Course Series: Multidisciplinary Management of Huntington's Disease: Present challenges and future perspectives is a 4-part online series that aims to improve participants' knowledge about the multiple aspects required for a multidisciplinary and comprehensive in the multidisciplinary and comprehensive management of Huntington's disease (HD). The course will be led by distinguished HD experts from MDS. The course will be presented in Spanish and will require basic working knowledge of the diagnosis and general management of movement disorders.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Identify the main motor, cognitive and behavioral deficits in HD

2. Recognize and associate the latest concepts in the genetics of HD

3. Classify and compare the main differential diagnoses in patients with genetic chorea

4. Plan the pharmacological and non-pharmacological management of HD using a multidisciplinary approach

5. Classify and compare the main therapeutic targets of the disease modifying treatments under development for Huntington's disease

6. Understand the novel therapeutic approaches in HD current/future clinical trials and their results interpretation

INTENDED AUDIENCE

This activity is intended for residents, fellows, neurologists, neuropsychiatrists, movement disorders specialists, and other healthcare professionals (physiotherapists, speech, nutritional, occupational therapists).
