Program Description

The MDS-AS Course for Allied Health Professionals & Clinicians is a 4-hour online course that aims to introduce participants to common movement disorders, useful rating scales and available treatment options including the role of a multidisciplinary team and allied health professionals in optimizing and improving the care for people with movement disorders.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Upon completion of this activity, learners will be able to: 

1. Identify common movement disorders in their practice setting and make appropriate referrals

2. Describe the clinical features of Parkinson’s disease and other common movement disorders

3. Describe the available treatment options for Parkinson’s disease and common movement disorders

4. Describe the use of rating scales in managing Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders

5. Describe the multidisciplinary team members and the role of physiotherapy in managing Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders
